* History:

South-Central MSC formerly known as Maritime Safety Section 3 under the Maritime Safety Company was established under Decision No. 2738 / 07.15.1976 of the Ministry of Transport.

On 27/12/1994, Director of Vietnam Maritime Administration issued Decision No. 878 / TCCB-LD transfer Maritime Safety Enterprise 3 under Maritime Safety Company II to the “Maritime Safety region III” under Vietnam Maritime Safety.

On 02/8/2005, Director of Vietnam Maritime Administration issued Decision No. 659 / QD-CHHVN renamed ” Maritime Safety region III” to ” Maritime Safety Enterprise 201″ under Maritime Safety Company II.

On 10/7/2010, South-Central MSC issued Decision No. 13 / QD-CTBDATHHMN transfer “Maritime Safety Enterprise 201″ under Maritime Safety Company II to ” South-Central Maritime Safety Enterprise” under Southern Vietnam Maritime Safety Limited Company.

On 09/7/2011, VMS-South issued Decision No. 148 / QD-TCTBDATHHMN renamed “South-Central Maritime Safety Enterprise” under Southern Vietnam maritime safety Limited Company into ” South-Central Maritime Safety Company ” under VMS-South.

East-Southern MSC manages localities from the province of Binh Thuan (Ke Ga lighthouse of Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province) to Tien Giang include land, coast and islands, which has 06 lighthouses, 10 routes with a total length of approximately 400 km of routes for more than 400 AtoNs. There are important routes with largest density vessels to import goods and tourism in the country such as: Vung Tau – Saigon, Vung Tau – Thi Vai, Soai Rap – Hiep Phuoc. Also in the past years, the unit also perform the task to regulate maritime traffic serving the construction works of national key projects like building bridges and underground tunnel Thu Thiem, building the Rach Mieu, Phu My bridge, repairing Saigon bridge, building Saigon II, Binh Khanh, Phuoc Khanh bridges …

On November 23, 2011, the Board of Members of VMS-South issued a decision on the transfer of the Southern Vietnam Maritime Hydro-Survey Enterprise belonging to the Southern Vietnam Maritime Safety Co., Ltd. to the Southern Maritime Hydro-Survey Enterprise under VMS-South.

  It was one of the first units to carry out the hydrography works from the time after the liberation of the South, reunification of the country. With a team of engineers, technical workers have professional qualifications, skilled and experience, meet the strict requirements of partners, especially foreign partners. The projects implemented by the unit are highly appreciated in terms of professionalism as well as experience.

  The system of surveying equipment includes Odom Hydrotrac Echo Sounder, DGPS satellite positioner, optical level meter, specialized software for deep measurement and Hypack data processing… Besides that, in order to meet modern measurement, the unit is equipped echo sounders with two frequencies MKIII, Atlas Deso 15, multi-beam sounder ES3PT-M, Motion sensor DMS05, Edge Tech 4200MP, positioners with two frequencies GPS Trimble 4000SSE, GPS Topcon Hiper Ga, electronic total station GPT 3003, electronic level Sprinter, Geomax, underwater camera Sea- Otter, specialized survey ship KS061 …

- On 12/8/1991, Pilots Co I was established by Decision No.326/QĐ-TCCB from Vietnam Maritime Joint Ventures.

- On 16/4/2007, The Minister of Transport issued a decision No.888/QĐ-BGTVT recognizing Pilots Co I a State-owned company under the Vietnam Maritime Administration.

- On 25/6/2010, The Minister of Transport issued a decision No.1775/QĐ-BGTVT exchanging Region Pilots I Company into Pilots Co I.

- On 24/10/2011, The Minister of Transport issued a decision No.2399/QĐ-BGTVT exchanging Pilots Co I into member of VMS-South.

- Charter Capital of the Company to date 31/12/2015: 215.871.703.425 VND (two hundred and fifteen billion, eight hundred and seventy-one million, seven hundred and three thousand, four hundred and twenty-five dong).

- Capability:

+ Over 25 years of continuous effort, Pilots Co I is evaluated as the leading bird of the maritime pilot industry of Vietnam with professional and strong maritime pilots team including 27 premium pilots, 08 first grade pilots, 16 second grade pilots, 12 third grade pilots, regularly trained to improve professional skills in the country and abroad, experienced and dedicated service. At present, all the pilots of the company are equipped with electronic equipment (PPU- Portable Pilots Unit), one of the most modern tools for navigating the pilotage works.

+ Particularly for the period from 2010 to 2015, The company conducted timely, safely and qualitied services for more than 75,635 turns of tuged. In particular, in 2010, the company successfully led and installed Thu Thiem section under the Sai Gon river tunnel construction project awarded by the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. On 05/05/2014, tugged the first container ships with the largest tonnage (over 50,000 DWT) flowing through Soai Rap fairway; On December, 2015, The company absolutely tugged safely the ZHENHUA 22, Hong Kong national flag, oversized super-length (230m in length, 32.2m in width, 10m in draft, carrying 04 Gantry cranes mounted on the deck,  height of the crane from surface of deck reached the top of 54.5m, the total width occupies the flow of the crane is 96.2m) at the SP-ITC port on the Dong Nai River. The customers, the maritime management units appreciated the quality of services as well as the coordination to ensure safety and security of goods, contributed positively to the socio-economic development in the region.
