NOTICE TO MARINERS
Depth of shoal sections of Saigon – Vungtau fairway
HCM – 14 – 2013
– Territorial water: Hochiminh city.
– Fairway’s name: Saigon – Vung tau.
– Channel’s sections: shoal sections of Saigon – Vungtau fairway.
On behalf of Ministry of Transport, Southern Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation notifies that:
In the sphere of designed navigational fairway with of 150m, exception to Ganhrai Bay section with of 400m, limited and guided by AtoNs system, depth in meter sounded to chart datum as follows:
1. Ganhrai Bay shoal section: From downstream of buoy “2” -1100m to buoy “6”.
– Shallow points with depth less than 8,5m appear at the co-ordinates:

2. Danxay shoal section: From downstream of buoy “29” – 400m to upstream of buoy “26” + 400m, Depth of this section is more than 8,5m.
3. Kervella shoal section: From downstream of buoy “28” – 400m to buoy “33”.
Shallow area appears on the starboard side, from downstream of buoy “28” – 70m to upstream buoy “28” + 60m about 130m in length, the farthest point encroaches 20m on channel, the shallowest depth is 8,0m scattered.
4. L’est Cape shoal section: From downstream of buoy “34” -1100m to buoy “37A”.
– Shallow area appears on the starboard side, from downstream of buoy “34” – 100m to upstream buoy “34” + 100m about 200m in length, the farthest point encroaches 10m on channel, the shallowest depth is 8,0m scattered.
– Shallow area appears on the starboard side, from downstream of beacon “35” – 20m to buoy “37” about 550m in length, the farthest point encroaches 60m on channel, the shallowest depth is 7,6m at the co-ordinate.

– Shallow area appears on the port side, from upstream of buoy “77” + 290m to upstream of buoy “77” + 1060m about 770m in length, the farthest point encroaches 95m on channel, the shallowest depth is 7,9m scattered.
– Shallow area appears on the port side, from buoy “66” to upstream of buoy “66” + 260 about 260m in length, the farthest point encroaches 20m on channel, the shallowest depth is 7,6m at the co-ordinate:

10. Turning basin VQ.01 and VQ.02:
- Turning point VQ.02:
In the sphere of designed turning point VQ.02 opposite to Te channel, Shallow area appears on the starboard side of fairway Lengthening all turning the farthest point encroaches 100m, the shallowest depth is 5,8m scattered.
- Turning point VQ.01:
In the sphere of designed turning point VQ.01 in front of Nharong port, Shallow area appears on the starboard side of fairway Lengthening all turning the farthest point encroaches 45m, the shallowest depth is 6,3m at the co-ordinate.

Vessels navigating on Sai Gon – Vung Tau fairway should the right axis and follow AtoN system and note shallow sections and points mentioned above.
