Depth of shallow sections Ganh Rai Bay, Dan Xay, Kervella, L’est Cape, Propontis, Đa Han, buoy “58”, Navioil, P71-ĐT83, Turning basin VQ01, Turning basin VQ02 on Sai Gon – Vung Tau fairway in 2017

Fairway: Sai Gon-Vung Tau.
Sections: Shallow sections are Ganh Rai Bay, Dan Xay, Kervella, L’est Cape, Propontis, Da Han, Buoy “58”, Navioil, P71-ĐT83, Turning basin VQ01, Turning basin VQ02.
Southern Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation would like to inform:
Within range of surveyed fairway is 150m in width, Ganh Rai Bay is 400m in width, limited and guided by AtoN system, least depth to Chart Datum as follows:
1) Within range of surveyed Ganh Rai Bay shallow section (Section from upstream of buoy “8” on Vung Tau – Thi Vai fairway + 800m to upstream of buoy “3” + 800m).
- Shallow area is on port side from downstream of buoy “2” – 880m to upstream of buoy “2” + 220m, 1,1km in length, the furthest point encroaches 170m on fairway, least depth is 8,1m scattered.
- Shallow area is on port side from downstream of buoy “4” – 660m to downstream of buoy “4” – 200m, 460m in length, the furthest point encroaches 50m on fairway, least depth is 8,2m.
- Except shallow areas mentioned above, depth is 8,5m.
2) Within range of surveyed Dần Xây shallow section (From downstream of buoy“29”- 400m to upstream of buoy “26”+400): Depth is 8,5m.
3) Within range of surveyed Kervella shallow section (From downstream of buoy “28”- 400m to buoy “33”): Depth is 8,5m.
4) Within range of surveyed L’est Cape (From downstream of buoy “34”-1100m to buoy “37A”):

- Shallow area is on port side of fairway, from buoy “58” to upstream at a distance of 150m, 160m in width, least depth is 6,8m.
- Except shallow points mentioned above, depth is 8,5m.
8) Within range of surveyed Navioil shallow section (Section from buoy “67” to upstream of buoy “69”+850m): Depth is 8,5m.
9) Within range of surveyed P71-ĐT83 shallow section (Section from buoy “71” to upstream of beacon “83”+1300m):
- Shallow area is on starboard side from downstream of buoy “73” – 130m to upstream of buoy “73” + 210m, 340m in length, the furthest point encroaches 38m on fairway, least depth is 8,1m scattered.
- Shallow area barricades on fairway from downstream of buoy “64” – 200m to upstream of buoy “64” + 480m, 680m in length, least depth at fairway center is 7,8m, least depth at shallow area is 6,8m on close port side’s edge.
- Shallow area is on starboard side from downstream of buoy “75” – 420m to upstream of buoy “75” + 30m, 450m in length, the furthest point encroaches 12m on fairway, least depth is 6,7m on close starboard side’s edge.
- Shallow area is on starboard side from downstream of buoy “77” – 230m to upstream of buoy “77” + 160m, 390m in length, the furthest point encroaches 61m on fairway, least depth is 7,5m scattered.
- Shallow area barricades on fairway from upstream of buoy “77” + 160m to downstream of buoy “66” – 380m, 910m in length, least depth at fairway center is 7,9m, least depth at shallow area is 7,3m scattered.
- Shallow area is on port side from buoy “66” to upstream of buoy “66” + 280m, 280m in length, the furthest point encroaches 43m on fairway, least depth is 7,0m on close port side’s edge.
- Shallow point appears in the following position’s coordinates:

10) Within range of Turning basin VQ01, semi-circle is 340m in diameter at area opposite of Sải Gòn port: Depth is 5,4m.
11) Within range of Turning basin VQ02 semi-circle is 480m in diameter at area opposite of Te canal: Depth is 6,1m.
NAVIGATION GUIDANCE:
All mariners should use caution when navigating in Sai Gon-Vung Tau fairway area, follow AtoN system. Pay attention to shallow areas, shallow points mentioned above for maritime safety.
