Water area: Tien Giang province, Ben Tre province
Channel: Tien River
VMS-South would to like to inform:
Length of area of channel from buoy “0” to upper stream of My Tho port + 500m is 74,0km, limited and guided by AtoN systems, depth in meter is calculated from Chart Datum as follows:
- Section from buoy “0” to Cong Vam Kinh (buoys “25”, “26”), 80m in breadth, minimum depth is 1.8m referred to CD (Chart Datum).
- Section from Cong Vam Kinh to upper stream My Tho port + 500m, 150 m in breadth, minimum depth is 2.6m referred to CD (Chart Datum).
- Obstacles in channel:
Fish traps are in downstream of buoy “51”-280m, encroach the water area about 70m. The widest point has following co-ordinates:

Wharves dot channel: downstream of buoy “26”-450m; downstream of buoy “30”-500m; upper stream of buoy “35”+150m; downstream of buoy “36”-400m; downstream of buoy “39”-90m; downstream of buoy “44”-700m; around buoy “45”; downstream of buoy “40”-900m; downstream of buoy “44”-100m.
Navigation Guidance:
All vessels navigating on Tien river channel should go in correct channel as AtoN systems and have reasonable methods when navigating through these above areas having fish traps and wharves.
