The parameters depth of Sai Gon – Vung Tau fairway

Fairway: Sai Gon – Vung Tau.
VMS-South would like to inform that:
Within range of surveyed the fairway’s bottom is 150 m wide, the fariway section of Ganh Rai Bay is 400 m wide (From AtoN buoys no. “8”, “9” on Vung Tau – Thi Vai fairway to AtoN buoys no. “1”, “4” on Sai Gon – Vung Tau fairway) is limited and guided by AtoN system, depth determined by echo sounding 200 kHz frequency to Chart Datum as follows:
- The fairway section from AtoN buoys no. “8”, “9” on Vung Tau – Thi Vai fairway to AtoN buoys no. “1”, “4” is 4,6 km long:
- Appears depth points are 8,0 m; 8,3 m; 8,4 m in the position with coordinates as follows:

- The fairway section from AtoN buoys no. “5”, “8” to AtoN buoy no. “9” is 4,6 km long, depth is 8,9 m.
- The fairway section from AtoN buoy no. “9” to AtoN buoy no. “22” is 15,0 km long, depth is 9,5 m.
- The fairway section from AtoN buoy no. “22” to AtoN buoy no. “55” is 25,4 km long:
+ Appears depth range on the starboard hand side of fairway from AtoN buoy no. “22” + 200 m to beacon no. “27” + 480 m, is 370 m long, depth is 8,3 m, 5.0 m from the farthest fairway’s edge.
+ Appears depth range on the starboard hand side of fairway opposite AtoN buoy no. “28”, 65 m long, depth is 7,5 m, 5.0 m from the farthest fairway’s edge.
+ Appears depth point ranges on the starboard hand side of fairway in the area of beacon no. “35”, is 110 m long, depth is 8,2 m, 5.0 m from the farthest fairway’s edge.
+ Appears depth point ranges are 8,0 m; 8,2 m; 8,3 m scattered close to the fairway’s edge at the following coordinates:

- The fairway section from AtoN buoys no. “59” to “71” is 10,0 km long, depth is 9,6 m.
- The fairway section from AtoN buoy no. “71” to conjunction of Ben Nghe canal, 12,6 km long:
- The fairway section from AtoN buoys no. “71” to “64” + 400 m, 1,3 m long, depth is 8,0 m, depth at the fairway center is 8,4 m.
- The fairway section from AtoN buoy no. “64” + 400 m to the foot of Phu My bridge, 1,0 km long, depth is 8,5 m.
- The fairway section from the foot of Phu My bridge to conjunction of Ben Nghe canal, 10,3 km long:
+ Appears depth point range on the starboard hand side of fairway of AtoN buoy no. “77” area, 560 m long, depth is 7,5 m, 54,0 m from the farthest fairway’s edge.
+ Appears depth point ranges are 6,6 m; 7,6 m; 7,8 m; 7,9 m; 8,2 m; 8,3 m; 8,4 m scattered at locations with coordinates as follows:

- 5. Turning basins VQ1 and VQ2:
- Turning basin VQ1: within range of designed Turning basin VQ1 (the waters in front of Sai Gon wharf in the downstream of Ben Nghe canal) 1/2 circle has a diameter of 340 m, there exists a range of depth points on the right bank, extending to the entire area of the turning basin, encroaching into the farthest turning basin about 45 m, the depth reaches 3.5 m .
- Turning basin VQ2: within range of designed Turning basin VQ2 (the waters is opposite Te canal) 11/2 circle has a diameter of 480 m, there exists a range of depth points on the right bank, extending to the entire area of the turning basin, the furthest point encroaches 56 m on turning basin, the depth is 6.9 m.

All vessels navigating on Sai Gon – Vung Tau fairway is based on The Notice to Mariners, the sounding charts, AtoN system for maritime safety. Pay attention to depth points ranges mentioned above and absolutely comply with the appointment of Maritime Administration of HCMC./.
