NOITICE TO MARINERS
Parameters depth on Sai Gon-Vung Tau fairway in 2021

Fairway: Sai Gon – Vung Tau.
VMS-South would like to inform that:
Within range of surveyed fairway’s bottom is 150m, Ganh Rai Bay section is 400m wide (from buoys no.“8”,”9” on Vũng Tàu – Thị Vải fairway to buoy no. “1” on Sài Gòn –Vũng Tàu fairway) limited and guided by AtoN system, depth is determined by Echo sounding 200 kHz frequency to Chart Datum as follows:
- Section from buoys no. “8”, “9” on Vũng Tàu – Thị Vải fairway to buoy no.“4”, is 5,5 km long, depth is 8,5 m.
- Section from buoy no.“4” to Nước Vận cape, is 11,0 km long, as follows:
- Section from buoy no. “4” to buoy no. “6” + 240 m, is 2,6 km long, depth at fairway center is 10,0 m, depth of fairway is 8,7 m is on port side of fairway.
- Section from buoy no. “6” + 240 m to buoy no. “8”, is 2,4 km long, depth at fairway center is 10,2 m, depth of fairway is 9,4 m on port side of fairway.
- Section from buoy no. “8” to Nước Vận cape, is 6,1 km long, depth at fairway center is 10,9 m, depth of fairway is 9,0 m on starboard side of fairway.
- Section from Nước Vận cape to Đèn Đỏ cape, is 52,0 km long, as follows:
- Section from Nước Vận cape to beacon no. “16”, is 9,0 km long, depth at fairway center is 13,4 m, depth of fairway is 12,4 m.
- Section from beacon no. “16” to buoy no. “20” – 90 m, is 3,3 km long, depth is 10,6 m.
- Appears depth points 7,8 m; 8,1 m; 8,3 m; 8,4 m scattered in the area of buoy no. “20” – 90 m to the area of beacon no. “27” + 100 m, at positions with coordinates as follows:

- Section Sài Gòn river, is 11,9 km long:
- Depth point range is on port side of fairway from buoy no. “64” – 230 m to the area of buoy no. “64”, is 230 m long, the furthest point on fairway is 68 m, depth is 7,9 m.
- Depth point range is on port side of fairway from buoy no. “73” – 150 m to the area of buoy no. “73” + 230 m, is 380 m long, the furthest point on fairway is 50 m, depth is 8,2 m.
- Appears depth points 7,7 m; 8,1 m; 8,2 m; 8,4 m, at positions with coordinates as follows:

- Turning Basins VQ1 and VQ2:
- Turning BasinVQ1: Within range of designed Turning basin VQ1 at the waters in front of Sài Gòn port, there exists a depth point range on starboard side of fairway, to the end of the Turning basin’s area, the furthest point on Turning basin is 48 m, the least depth is 3,3 m.
- Vũng Quay tàu VQ2: Within range of designed Turning basin VQ1 in the area opposite of Te cannal, there exists a depth point range on starboard side of fairway, to the end of the Turning basin’s area, the furthest point on Turning basin is 66 m, the least depth is 6,7 m.
NAVIGATION GUIDANCE:
- All means navigating on Sai Gon-Vung Tau fairway, based on the Notice to Mariners mentioned above, the Sounding Charts, and AtoN system to take measures to navigate safely. Pay attention to depth points and depth points ranges mentioned above, absolutely comply with appointment of Maritime Administration of HCMC.
