Fairway: Soai Rap.

Southern Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation would like to inform that:

Within designed fairway bottom, limited and guided by AtoN system, smallest depth in meters to Chart Datumn is as follows:

  1. Fairway section from Buoy “0” to pair of buoys “15”,16, about 17,9km in length, designed fairway bottom with 160m in width:

- Shallow section on the left of fairway extends from upstream buoy “4” + 840m to downstream Buoy “6” – 870m, about 900m in length, the furthest point encroaches 54m on fairway, the smallest depth in shallow section is 7,5m located contiguously to border of fairway.

- Shallow section across fairway extends from downstream Buoy “6” – 870m to upstream Buoy “6” + 130m, about 1,0km in length, the smallest depth in heart center is 9,0m, the smallest depth in shallow section is 3,4m located contiguously and 8,5m far from right border of fairway.

- Shallow section on the right of fairway extends from Buoy “5” to upstream Buoy “7” + 200m, about 1,3km in length, the furthest point encroaches 65m on fairway, the smallest depth in shallow section is 3,3m located contiguously and 3,0m far from border of fairway.

- Existing shallow points with coordinates are as follows:

- Shallow section across fairway extends from downstream Buoy “10” – 970m to pair of buoys “15”, “16”, about 8,0km in length, the smallest depth in heart center is 8,2m, the smallest depth in shallow section is 7,7m located contiguously and 6,0m far from border of fairway.

- Except the shallow points and shallow sections above, the smallest depth of the fairway section is 9,5m.

  1. Fairway section from pair of buoys “15”, “16” to upstream Sai Gon Center Harbor (SPCT), about 39,7km in length, designed fairway bottom with 120m in width:

- Shallow section across fairway extends from pair of buoys “15”, “16” to upstream Buoy “27” + 460m, about 15,4km in length, the smallest depth in heart center is 8,1m, the smallest depth in shallow section is 7,3m.

- Shallow section across fairway extends from buoy “32” to downstream Buoy “37” – 570m, about 8,0km in length, the smallest depth in heart center is 8,0m, the smallest depth in shallow section is 7,1m.

- Shallow section across fairway extends from upstream buoy “51” + 260m to upstream buoy “60” + 350m, about 1,3km in length, the smallest depth in heart center is 8,8m, the smallest depth in shallow section is 8,6m.

- Shallow section on the left of fairway extends from upstream buoy “63” + 400m to Buoy “65”, about 420m in length, the furthest point encroaches 187m on fairway, the smallest depth in heart center is 8,6m, the smallest depth in shallow section is 8,1m.

- Except the shallow sections above, the smallest depth of the fairway section is 9,5m.

  1. Fairway section from upstream Sai Gon Center Harbor (SPCT) to upstream Tan Hiep Phuoc Harbor, about 1,9km in length, designed fairway bottom with 120m in width:

- Shallow section on the left of fairway extends from upstream Sai Gon Center Harbor (SPCT) to downstream Buoy “67” – 400m, about 610m in length, the furthest point encroaches 92m on fairway, the smallest depth in heart center is 8,4m, the smallest depth in shallow section is 7,8m.

- Existing shallow points with coordinates are as follows:

  1. Fairway section from Tan Hiep Phuoc Harbor to fork Binh Khanh (between Soai Rap and Nha Be rivers), about 7,1km in length, designed fairway bottom with 150m in width:

- Shallow section on the right of fairway extends from buoy “71” to upstream Buoy “70” + 100m, about 400m in length, the furthest point encroaches 52m on fairway, the smallest depth in shallow section is 7,3m located contiguously to border of fairway.

- Shallow section across fairway extends from upstream buoy “70” + 190m to downstream Buoy “74” – 320m, about 2,0km in length, the smallest depth in heart center is 7,1m, the smallest depth in shallow section is 6,3m.

- Shallow section on the right of fairway at area Buoy “58” on Sai Gon-Vung Tau fairway, about 215m in length, the furthest point encroaches 88m on fairway, the smallest depth in shallow section is 7,7m located contiguously to border of fairway.

- Except the shallow sections above, the smallest depth of the fairway section is 8,5m.

NAVIGATION GUIDANCE:

All vessels navigating on Soai Rap fairway based on Notice to Mariners, paper chart and AtoN system to have methods of safety navigation. Notice the shallow points, shallow sections mentioned above and comply strictly with the regulation of HCMC Maritime Administration.
