The dean of IALA worldwide academy (IALA WWA) visited with VMS-South

To strengthen cooperation between Southern Vietnam Maritime Safety Cooperation, IALA Worldwide Academy and Korea Association of Aids to Navigation (KAAN). From 21-23 May 2015, Mr. Jean-Charles Leclair –The Dean of IALA WWA visited the Head-office of VMS-South in Vungtau. To welcome IALA Academy, on VMS-South side have Mr. Tran DucThi–Deputy General Director and delegates of International Cooperation Dept., Maritime Safety Dept., Technical Dept., East –Southern Maritime Safety Company, Southern Maritime Mechanical Company,.Ltd, and Southern Aids to Navigation Equipment Company,.Ltd.

At the meeting

On this occasion, Mr. Jean-Charles Leclairalso visited lighthouses belongs to VMS-South’s Aids to Navigation system. On the meeting, parties exchanged information, discussed solutions to improveVMS-South AtoNsmanufacturing capability, managing Aids to Navigation system and considered building cooperation projectsbetween VMS-South, KAAN and IALA WWA. The Dean of IALA WWA also submitted the technical report issued by IALA WWA experts from the assessment mission on Aids to Navigation system managed by VMS-South in October 2014.

Mr.TranDucThi – VMS-South’s Deputy General Director hoped that after this visiting, IALA WWA and VMS-South will maintain and build sustainable cooperation together and VMS-South will continue being received supports from IALA WWA on capacity building field such as training programs about management of Aids to Navigation, using Risk of Management software…VMS-South will try to enhance Aids to Navigation system based on technical reports of IALA WWA experts for development of Maritime Safety in Vietnam.
