To strengthen a long-term relationship between Southern Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation (VMS-South) and United Kingdom Hydrographic Organization (UKHO), from May 20th – 22th, 2015, Mr. Nicholas Jeffrey Webb –Analysis Data and Geography Manager and Mr.David John Hayman – The 5th zone Geography (in East-Asia) Manager visited and worked with VMS-South. Welcoming UKHO, on VMS-South side have Mr. Pham QuocSuy-General Director and delegates from VMS-South’s Departments such as International Cooperation Dept., Maritime Safety Dept. and Southern Maritime Hydro-Survey Company.
At the first meeting, two parties exchanged updatedinformation on ENC production. Simultaneously, two parties also brought out suitable methods for updating and exchanging information quickly.
On this occasion, UKHO delegates worked with VMS-South for 03 days (from 20- 22 May 2015). Two parties discussed problems related to Notice to Mariners, update and fixing ENC, produce paper charts, multibeam survey methods, RTK, training courses, and some problems related to hydrography fields.
Mr. Pham Quoc Suy- General Director highly appreciatedthe visiting and working of UKHO and he hopes that through this visiting, UKHO and VMS-South will maintain, strengthen sustainable relationship and VMS-South will be continuously received support from UKHO in the future.
